Further changes to FIA World Endurance Championship schedule...
The 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship will now start at Spa-Francorchamps on May 1 after the series announced the postponement of the 8 Hours of Portimao to June.
Algarve International Circuit near the southern Portuguese city of Portimao was due to host the WEC season-opener on April 4, but this date has now been scratched.
The world championship has postponed its first visit to Portugal to June 12-13, on the original date of the 24 Hours of Le Mans which was rescheduled to August this week.
It means that the 6 Hours of Spa, which had been penciled in as round two, has been brought forward to become the opening round on the first weekend of May.
