Campbell, Nasr Deliver Porsche Penske Win at Road America
Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr delivered Porsche Penske Motorsport’s second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victory of the season in Sunday’s largely caution-free race at Road America.
Nasr drove the No. 7 Porsche 963 to a 4.635-second win over the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 of Tom Blomqvist, who nearly erased the once 15-plus second gap in the final stanza of the two-hour and 40-minute contest.
Having inherited pole after an accident in warmup for the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R, Campbell stretched out into a commanding lead early on.
Nasr maintained the advantage until the final round of pit stops when the No. 7 Porsche took on new left-side Michelin tires only and a full energy replenishment, which ultimately saw the car slip into the grips of Blomqvist, but still pull off the win.
It marked the first victory for the No. 7 crew following the sister squad’s triumph on the streets of Long Beach in April.
The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Acura of Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor took over the GTP class championship lead with a third place finish.

Rebel Rock Inherits Pilot Challenge Win After Winward Penalty
Robin Liddell’s late charge to second across the finish line wound up netting the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race win Sunday at Road America.
Liddell and co-driver Frank DePew pushed the No. 71 Rebel Rock Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R from the 17th starting position in the GS class to cross the finish line 3.229 seconds behind the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 at the checkered flag of the Road America 120.
But following post-race technical inspection, the Mercedes was found to have exceeded its fuel capacity and moved to the rear of the class in the provisional results.
The resulting win is the first of the season for Liddell and DePew and comes on the heels of a second-place finish last month at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The revised results put a pair of Ford Mustang GT4s on the GS podium, with the No. 59 KohR Motorsports Mustang shared by Bob Michaelian and Luca Mars taking second place and the No. 13 McCumbee McAleer Racing with Aerosport Mustang co-driven by Jenson Altzman and Chad McCumbee placing third.

Formal, Marcelli Win Super Trofeo Road America Race 2; Norman Crashes
Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli completed a weekend sweep with victory in the second Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race at Road America in a contest that saw Ryan Norman eliminated in an incident at Canada Corner.
Formal started the race from second position aboard the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2.
Stablemate Norman converted pole position into an early lead aboard the No. 84 car, but dropped to second position behind Marcelli due to a longer mandatory pitstop.
Norman then pressured Marcelli until the two drivers encountered a pair of back markers at Canada Corner with fifteen minutes remaining.
The No. 84 Lamborghini clipped Marcelli’s No. 1 car while swerving to the right in the braking zone before spinning on the grass and smashing into the Tiger Tari-driven No. 17 NTE Sport entry, eliminating both cars and causing a full course caution.
When the race was restarted, a chaotic, multi-car incident resulted in Rob Walker and AJ Muss becoming stranded at Turn 1, triggering a second yellow.
Marcelli took the checkered flag under yellow, leading home the Forty7 Motorsports cars of Joel Miller and Jake Walker to win.
