Kurtz, Braun Win GTWC America VIR Race 2
George Kurtz and Colin Braun took their fourth victory of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season by narrowly beating ST Racing in the Sunday race at Virginia International Raceway.
Kurtz, driving the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, won with a lead of 0.8 seconds over Samantha Tan’s No. 38 BMW M4 GT3, which she shared with Neil Verhagen.
Tan challenged Kurtz for the majority of the second half of the race after they moved up to the lead following a slow stop for the No. 96 Turner Motorsports BMW.
This allowed Kurtz and Tan to vault up to first and second place, while newly installed Vin Barletta dropped to fourth behind the No. 45 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Charlie Luck.
Barletta ultimately faded to tenth place, while the No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG of Kenton Koch completed a charging drive to round out the overall top three and secure back-to-back Pro class victories.

Anderson Beats Boehm to Sunday GT4 America Race Win
Zac Anderson and John Capestro Dubets took victory for Auto Technic Racing in the second Pirelli GT4 America race at Virginia International Raceway, which ended under safety car.
The No. 51 BMW M4 GT4 crossed the line ahead of the No. 92 Random Vandals Racing machine of Kenton Koch and Kevin Boehm.
After Koch and Capestro Dubets ran in first and second during their opening stints, which almost entirely took place behind the safety car, the lead battle heated up when Boehm and Anderson were installed behind the wheel of their respective cars.
The initial safety car, which lasted for nearly 30 minutes, was triggered following a collision between Eric Powell and Carter Fanuch that required barrier repairs.
With just under twenty minutes remaining, Anderson wrestled the No. 51 machine past Boehm’s car through turns five and six and took the race lead.
He remained in the lead when Johan Schwartz and Kevin Conway both brought their damaged cars to a halt off track in separate, unrelated incidents.
This caused a second safety car, which would last to the end of the race.

Bingo Racing Callaway Corvette Takes Historic GTWC Asia Win at Fuji
Bingo Racing secured a landmark triumph with its Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS round at Fuji, marking the first Corvette win in SRO competition in more than a decade.
The duo of Shinji Takei and Akira Iida took victory by a narrow margin of 2.5 seconds over the No. 911 AAS Motorsport by Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of Vuttikhorn Inthraphuvasak and Alessio Picariello.
It marked the first time the Callaway Competition-built car took victory in an SRO Motorsports Group-organized championship, while ending a Corvette win drought that dates back to the 2010 FIA GT3 Championship round at Portimao.
